The food that plant need is made by a process called photosynthesis. This is an extremely complicated chemical process, which can be shown by a simple formula.
The formula (shown above) does not show the many energy changes or the stages of photosynthesis, however .Simply, the plants combine carbon-dioxide from the air with water to make suger.
This suger is stored as carbohydrate,and is used later by the plant to provide energy for growth and flower production.
Plant cell
There are two main difference between plant and animal cell. Plant cell contain green chlorophyll and they have think, rigid cell walls, made of a substance called cellulose. Plant do not need the thinner flexible wall found in animal cell because they do not move in the same way. Inside the wall, a plant with a nuccleus embedded in it, and there often large space called vacuoles, filled with a liquid called cell sap. The plant is kept in shape by the pressure of the sap on the cell walls rather like the shape of a balloon is maintained by the air inside.
